The Relationship between Trade & Development

The concept of development is a complex idea. Development could be seen and understood differently by different Societies, Traditions, Cultures or Nations. The Chambers (1983, 2007) describes ‘development’ as ‘Good Change’. Even that definition is seen as problematic by some. Good Change according to whom, they would ask.

Well, Let me leave the Philosophy of Development alone for at least this article and will take ‘Good Change’ to the best of my understanding, as the bases to recognise Development here.

Generally, development is associated with capitalism & industrialization. With the growth of Industrialization people were presented with more choices, and subsequently with the rise in Capitalism most of us saw growth in our purchasing power. And as the world got used to the comforts & luxuries of purchasing so consequently grew the marketplace, advancement of Industries & Technology has been on the rise too! The World for almost 3/4th of the century has more or less been a comparatively peaceful place when looked at, in Retrospect.

Trade rising and people buying have proved to be beneficial for Governments, Institutions and the General public at large. Therefore, trade between countries has been sufficiently instrumental at keeping ‘civil’ International relations.

We, at REDRAZ INTERNATIONAL believe in contributing towards that Good Change. Through fair trade practices we increase the Soft Power of our Nation and build International Relationships across borders and cultures.

All countries have their own resources, natural, human, technological etc. Liberalization & Globalization gave us the opportunity to combine our resources and come together as a planet to attempt and create a better life for all. With this mind-set REDRAZ INTERNATIONAL sets out on a journey to harness change, Good Change!
